Defensive pistol series

Course Hours: 4-5 hrs.

This course is designed for the beginner.  The focus is on safety and handling of a firearm. It introduces pistol and revolver to the new shooter, exposing them to a variety of firearms.  This will give an experience to help the shooter identify preferences if not already an owner.  Don’t purchase a firearm based on what someone tells you.  Why not experience it for yourself before making an important purchase?

Pre-requisite:  Concealed Weapons License or Background check

Required: 

• 150 rounds ammo.
• Pistol/revolver (one will be provided upon request)
• Pistol/revolver holster
• Minimum of 1 pistol magazine or speed-loader for revolver
• Eye and ear protection (will be provided upon request)
• Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
• No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
• Long pants with belt loop and sturdy belt
• Sturdy closed-toe shoes
• Water (enough to remain hydrated)
•  Snacks as needed
• Note taking materials

Course Hours: 8 hrs.

This course covers the fundamentals of shooting and introduces tactics and manipulating the weapon.

• Fundamentals of Shooting
• Attention to details to improve all skill levels
• Proper stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture
• Proper positioning of finger on trigger, trigger control
• Breathing techniques
• Techniques to draw pistol from holster efficiently and with speed
• Placement of first round on target
• Tight grouping of shots on target
• Performing reloads, malfunction clearing
• Multiple drills on trigger control

• Pistol/revolver holster
• Minimum of 3 pistol magazines or speed-loaders for revolver

• No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
• Long pants with belt loop and sturdy belt
• Sturdy closed-toe shoes

Course Hours: 8 hrs.

This course includes one-handed techniques to prepare you in the event of an injury.  There is a 42 round qualifier at the conclusion of the course.

• Drawing pistol with dominant hand and non-dominant hand
• Shooting techniques while firing with one hand
• One-handed reload drills
• One-handed malfunction clearing
• Position shooting (high kneel, low kneel, tactical kneel, prone)
• Proper use of barricades and cover drills

Pre-requisite:  Defensive Pistol 1 course completion

Required: 

• A minimum of 300 rounds of ammo
• Pistol/revolver (one will be provided upon request)
• Pistol/revolver holster
• Minimum of 3 pistol magazines or speed-loaders for revolver
• Eye and ear protection
• Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
• No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)

Course Hours: 8 hrs.

This course is an advanced level course uniquely designed encompassing tactics to improve your skills.  This course will be done from concealed carry.  More information can be obtained through the instructor.

Pre-requisite:  Defensive Pistol 2 qualifier course completion

Required: 

• A minimum of 300 rounds of ammo
• A firearm (one will be provided upon request)
• Pistol/revolver holster
• Minimum of 3 pistol magazines or speed-loaders for revolver
• Eye and ear protection
• Shirt for concealment
• Cap or Wide Brimmed hat
• No loose-fitting shirts at the neck, tank tops,v-neck, etc… (to avoid brass from entering shirt)
• Long pants with belt loop and sturdy belt
• Sturdy closed-toe shoes
• Water (enough to remain hydrated)
• Lunch &  snacks as needed
• Note taking materials

Course Hours: 10-16 hrs. depending on class size

This course applies tactics and gun fighting exercises while in or around a vehicle when exposed to an active shooter/threat.  It is geared toward the needs of armed professionals/officers, but can apply to anyone who may encounter a threat while in a vehicle.
